What is a Pilates Reformer?
The Pilates reformer is a traditional piece of Pilates equipment that looks like a bed with springs, a sliding carriage, a rope and pulley system. The origins of the Pilates reformer dates back to the original Pilates studio in 1920’s New York and was designed by Joseph Pilates himself.
Beginner: Now that you know how to set up your reformer, the emphasis of this class will be learning the names and sequence of the essentials exercises.. *Need approval from instructor to move graduate to intermediate in order to register online.
Intermediate: This class will add more intense positions and flow from one exercise to the other. You will need to know how to properly breath and imprint your pelvis from multiple positions and have the ability to swiftly change from one piece of equipment to another.*Needs approval from instructor to move graduate to Advanced in order to register online.
*Advanced: Advanced students will use multiple pieces of Pilates equipment such as the Spring Wall, Chair,Ladder barrel and more.*Needs approval from instructor to register for this class as well as being comfortable with going upside down.
